Shooting Stars Cause Forest Fires

I saw a star fall from the sky tonight.
Perplexed, I wondered if I should catch it (or not)
Because hot coals cause forest fires
And glorified as they are, all stars burn.
Avert my eyes instead, I decided.
Walk away, forget about it.
Thought back to when I actually caught one,
Dropped it as I tried to hold on
Inevitably, a blaze resulted, but it was warm.
And that's the thing about stars,
Glorified as they are, because they give light and heat.
Sometimes it's nice to see and feel warm
But after that, I'll take the moon,
Because shooting stars cause forest fires
And I'd rather not see trees burn.

Snow

Sun fades fallen snow
Rays strike a lonely blow
Covered in soft cold once,
now the ground gives itself away.
Sullen out with color now
Once was silk, light with snow
Now the earth reaches through,
Awake.

She’s a paradox, a chameleon queen,
Climbing up trees, leaf by leaf.
Not as she seems, yet ever known
by the hunters and the hunted.

Two Shadows.

This needs some work, but...

Two shadows: (I can't see)
It's a shade that flutters lashing wings
to the beat of a butterfly show
painted on the songs they sing
your aspirations dart and go.
Get back, fly away.
Ripples of the stream sigh and sway
inside my heart, becoming rain
the swirling storm grows
the center: silent as it glows.
Every droplet takes its shape,
black as your tears,
winged like the clouds
I swallow each one whole.

Dusk

nothing escapes your dusky eyes on a winter's eve
and the starry skies sift through dark mirrors casting gemstones in your stare,
your eyes recalling fallen snow from clouds above
all aglow like neon lights, lit up by the moon and city nights.
Luminance dare not escape your dusky eyes, nor beauty,
and even my heart fails to fly away.

Music

Music is a very large part of my life. I've spent my share of money on albums and concert tickets. I bet music is important to you too. So I'd like to hear... who is your favorite musical artist (individual or group) and why. If you'd like to participate, just write your answer in a comment.

And it's only fair that I'd answer my own question...
Currently, I'd say my favorite group is none other than MuteMath. First of all, they have a very original style. Their palette of sounds seamlessly bridges the gap between acoustic and electric; thus, they have a beautifully exciting yet organic style. Each musician in the group is individually outstanding as well, making the music rich and interesting. Second, the lyrics are enchanting: Paul Meany's spiritual side definitely seeps through, yet the songs remain practically applicable and reachable to even the most secular audience. Third, and not least of all, their live show is amazing. Energetic only begins to describe their set, and each member's personality readily flows out as they preform.
